ATI and AMD effectively segregated possible CPU-GPU combinations and fabricated a CPU/GPU hybrid chip called 'Fusion'.

The chip is capable of handling many GPU tasks. It will make your applications more faster as it will enable you do things 'in house' instead of offloading graphical functions to the card and then again pipe it to your CPU for more computations.
They be available by late 2008
