It was only seven months back that we had the Eee Pad Transformer from Asus and in such a short span of time, surprisingly the tablet has established itself as a rival of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 as well as the top of the ladder iPad. And, now Asus is ready to roll out its new tablet, the Eee Pad Transformer Prime in the market. If the tablet carries the specs that we expect it to have, there's no doubt that it will be at the top of your wish list for the holiday presents. So, without further ado let's delve into the features that already has us hooked on to it even before its release.

Expected features:

1. Expected to run on Ice Cream Sandwich

Although there's no confirmation from Asus itself, the Eee Pad Transformer Prime is expected to come preloaded with the brand new and much awaited Android 4.0 aka the Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). If the device ships with the latest Android operating system, then Asus Transformer Prime would be the first one to feature it right out of the box. Having Ice Cream Sandwich right out of the box means the users would be able to enjoy all the new features of the operating system as soon as they lay their hands on it. Some of the most awaited and loved features of Android 4.0 are a completely revamped UI, multitasking prowess, customizable home screens and a new way of accessing notifications.

2. Expected to run on quad-core NVIDIA chip

The Eee Pad Transformer Prime would be the first tablet to run on Nvidia's next generation quad core processor, Project Kal-El or Tegra 3. At the heart of Tegra 3 lies four identical ARM Cortex A9 CPU cores plus a fifth CPU core for handling lesser tasks. The presence of a quad core processor would mean a long lasting battery, performance at max, HD content, speed, multitasking and portability. Now, that's more than a single reason to be excited about the Nvidia quad-core processor.

3. Long battery life

Nvidia's Tegra 3 quad-core processor is aimed at conserving power and the Eee Pad Transformer Prime equipped with this next-generation processor would ensure an unbelievable long battery life of about 14.5 hours. This is by far the best battery life seen in any other tablet existing in the market today.

4. Thin and handy

Most of the tablets in the market today fall on the heavier side. Therefore, a slim tablet would be a nice break from the regular tablets and will also be more comfortable to hold while on the go. All this is possible due to the Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor, which gives Eee Pad Transformer the much-needed portability and the light weight.

5. Expected to come with attachable keyboard

Asus is planning to retain its attachable keyboard in the Eee Pad Transformer Prime, which was well received by the consumers and tech pundits. An attachable keyboard would allow you to use the device both as a tablet or a laptop depending upon your needs.

6. Connectivity

Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime is also expected to have 3G connectivity along with WiFi and the ability to create hotspots. However, it's not yet confirmed whether the tablet will have both the connectivity options together or there will be separate models for both 3G and WiFi.

7. Expected to come with higher screen resolution

A successor to the Eee Pad Transformer, the Transformer Prime is also speculated to sport a similar 10-inch display. However, the excitement is not about the screen size but the screen resolution, which might be as high as 1280x800. A better resolution is on the cards owing to the presence of Nvidia's quad-core processor.

8. Multitasking and HD movie

Asus Eee Pad Transformer is already being considered as a tough competitor for the Apple iPad and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. And now with the newer Eee Pad Transformer Prime, the things are looking even better for Asus. Featuring Nvidia's next generation quad-core processor, it is quite obvious that Transformer Prime would be a master when it comes to multi-tasking. And thanks to the same powerful technology, the tablet would also allow you to watch content in full HD.
