Are wristwatches dead?

Leslie Earnest has hit the nail on its head followed by Deidre Woollard, highlighting the bleak future of wristwatches. With every gadget including your PDAs, laptops, iPods, and cell phones, flaunting time, do we really need to load our puny wrists with a heavy piece of metal kept intact by a pinching band? Not really!

Even sales data proves the fact that the watches will soon become an antiquated gadget. The non-luxury watches, no doubt, have phased out with sales dropping drastically, especially when consumers are lured by other nifty gadgets. Perhaps, for a watch collector the idea may seem unacceptable but it's true and we can clearly see it.
