Are gadgets ruling teens' lives?

To hell with all these studies, research and surveys that keep on highlighting the negative aspects of technology and are piled up in dust when the project is over, who pay heed to them anyway. As per a recent study, another bizarre one, today's teenagers are getting far less sleep than they're supposed to and the culprit is none other than - 'Technology'.

Jodi A. Mindell, associate director of the Sleep Center at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, says:

"Computers, cell phones, televisions and video games all keep those who should be asleep wide awake."

Now we can view this in two ways:

One: These gadgets are constantly designed and produced to make our lives easier. These have opened new vistas and hence provided us with new technological platforms on which we can stabilize and view life through a different angle.

Two: We've overindulged ourselves into the gadgets and have allowed them to rule us.

Now, it's on us, whether allow them to do so, rule us, or not. Everything on this planet is associated with both pros and cons, it's on us to imbibe the best and move on. If you'll breathe oxygen you'll live and if you'll block your nose and mouth you'll die, right!

In fact, technology is preparing kids for the future. Of course they need guidance in case they're being trapped in the tech world and are shunning sleep and studies unnecessarily. There's no need of highlighting the benefits of television or cell phone or computers here. If they'll not involve themselves with these gadgets, I'm not saying sticking with them all the time they'll be making their lives complicated.
