Apple's new 'Multi-Functional Hand held device' patent
Apple had already filed a patent in early September, that patented the merging of various electronic devices into a single gadget, and following that patent it has again applied for a patent.

The new U.S. patent application Serial No. 11/367,749 and is entitled 'Multi-Funtional Hand-Held device'.
This patent is not that much different from the previous one but it provides a more detailed information about the devices.
It displays a new interface, which has more of display area and less or no buttons or keys on the main display.
There is a new landscape and portrait mode that has been described that makes it easier to view photos. The main music playing core of iPod will have a new customizable display with an on-screen time slider and volume control.
The new iPod may feature an integrated phone or a GPS module, but all this is still on the drawing board and it will be great to see as to how Apple brings this design into reality...
