mp3 hearing loss
Apple seems to be worried about the side-effects your continues snuggling with iPod can pose. The current iPods reaches volumes of over 100 decibels - the equivalent to standing 10ft from a pneumatic drill, which is above the safety level volume of 70 decibels. Not even this, some hi-end MP3s will make it even above 120 decibels. That seems to be enough contribution towards an irreversible damage to hearing. However, the next Apple iPods and iPhones will automatically calculate how long a person has been listening and at what volume, before reducing that to a safer level. The automatic volume control technology will also take care of the period between the two points where the iPod is turned off and when it is restarted.

Warnings issued by audiologists seem to have forced Apple to take this step. Researchers warn consumers to limit their listening to about four-and-a-half hours a day at 70 per cent volume, or 90 minutes at 80 per cent. Whatever be the reason, who cares, we need full blast!
