Apple’s very own portable gaming device on the anvil
So I guess Apple decided to jump on the portable gaming console bandwagon after all! If recent patent applications are to be believed, then Apple already has a juicy little iGame somewhere in the pipeline. Check out this excerpt from a patent-protection application suspiciously code named 'APPLE': …for products that classify as 'toys, games and playthings, namely, hand-held units for playing electronic video games; stand alone video game machines; electronic games other than those adapted for use with television receivers only; LCD game machine; electronic game machines; toys, namely battery-powered computer games.' Furthermore another patent application for a multi-touch gaming interface also mentions that, the invention allows various applications to be integrated and used on devices that are not readily suitable for supporting multiple applications at the same time. That’s it. After being trampled in the iPhone launch stampede, I’m going to go registering with my Apple retailer for this baby right away!
