Apple’s always been anything you can do, we can do better! Much, much better! Leopard sold 5 million copies in just ninety days, so Apple has come out with its own counter measure. Its latest offering at the Macworld is Time Capsule.
Time Machine’s basic flaw was its inability to help in case of on-the-move needs. Time Capsule does away with that. A full Airport Extreme base station with 802.11n wireless and four Ethernet ports, the Time Capsule is a wireless solution for the backing up needs.
And the storage capacity on this thing is amazing; it comes in two versions 500 GB and a TB of memory. Jobs describes the pricing of this product as “aggressive.” Shipping out in February, the 500 GB version of Time Capsule will cost $299 and the 1000 GB $499.
Time Capsule is an amazing solution for those with cash in kitty and abhorrence for messy wires. Store it in one of your drawers and none would be wiser as to the place where all clutter gets stored.
