A patent application has it that the iMac could get a touchscreen interface in the near future. According to a patent featured on Patently Apple, the Apple computers that rely on keyboards and mouse for input now, could with a supposed hybrid between Mac OS X and iOS, have touchscreen interface for input.


According to the Apple patent, the touch smartness of the iOS combined the power of OS X would courtesy a built-in accelerometer allow the Macs to detect touch on the screen and then, like a tablet, switch the interface automatically. For peculiarity, the patent details touch sensors on the bezel and software on the touchscreen iMac to allow users to set what angle would activate the touchscreen. The patent also shows a touchscreen MacBook, any guesses how soon Apple could be updating its products?
