Apple revamps iPods with multitouch iPod nano and iPhone-like iPod Touch
Apple’s press event was scheduled to release new and improved iPods. We’d been speculating what the new iPods will have in store for the audiophiles in us, and now here with the latest updates and revamps on the iPod Shuffle, iPod nano and the iPod Touch we have the details. First up the iPod shuffle retains the similar features of the predecessor, but in a smaller form factor. The shuffle features buttons and supports VoiceOver, Playlists and Genius Mixes. Priced at $49, the iPod shuffle packs in 2GB of storage and boasts 15 hours of battery backup.

Next in line of the revamps was the iPod nano. The iPod nano has been trimmed down to an all touchscreen display, that’s lighter and smaller than the iPod nano we’ve used. The new version of the music player supports two finger multitouch, and includes additional services like the VoiceOver, FM radio and Nike+. Priced at $149 and $179 for 8-and 16GB versions respectively, the iPod nano would keep you on music for about a day non-stop.

The third in the thick of transforming things is the iPod Touch which gathers most from Apple’s already successful iPhone, other than its sleek design. Apple has delivered the new iPod Touch with the same iPhone 4-like Retina Display, along with a front facing camera for FaceTime over Wi-Fi. The iPod Touch is stuffed in with a A4 processor, 3-axis gyroscope, iOS 4.1 and a camera on the rear for HD video recording. The iPod Touch is priced at $229, $299 and $399 for 8-, 32-and 64GB versions respectively. The iPod Touch is great gift for the audiophile in us with that lovely 40 hours of battery life.
