Apple PowerMac G5 Quad
Now a bit of good news for the die hard Mac fan - the Apple PowerMac G5 Quad. It comes with two Dual-core PowerPC G5 processors.

Features include a modern PCI Express architecture, and fast workstation graphics combine with core capabilities in Mac OS X to unlock opportunities for video and audio producers, scientists, researchers, and 2D and 3D designers - resulting in application performance that's up to three times faster than the fastest Power Mac G4. With a 533 MHz DDR2 memory that's expandable to 16GB it can support around eight 23' monitors! With Mac OS X that comes bundled with Spotlight, Dashboard, Mail, iChat AV, Safari, Address Book, QuickTime, iLife (includes iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie HD, iDVD, and GarageBand), iCal, DVD Player, Classic environment, Art Directors Toolkit X, FileMaker Pro Trial, GraphicConverter, Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac Test Drive, OmniGraffle, OmniOutliner, QuickBooks New User Edition, Zinio Reader, Xcode Development Tools etc. (read more about technical specifications) along with Mac's traditionally unconventional exotic looks this one should be on top of the Objects of Desire list for whoever had been in a romantic affair with Mac.

However, the catch here is it may remain to be an object of desire because of the price tag of $ 3,299 (the one with 2.5GHz). I, for one, am definitely disappointed as I have to wait till I save enough to afford it. The catch however remains - will this machine still remain the latest from the Apple stable or do I have to continue playing 'Catch Up'? *SIGH*
