US Plant & Trademark Office has granted Apple a patent, which reveals a new set of rules for touchscreen devices, that would allow those who are disabled to use iOS device. This new protocol is an addition to Apple’s “Voice Over” framework which assists developers and provides accessibility to the disabled to use iPhone and its services.

Apple’s new limited rights application covers techniques and system supporting the control of a touchscreen device. This technique allows to interact with devices with touch based UI. This will assist a user who is not physically present beside the touchscreen of a device to interact with the device even if the user is unable to view the touchscreen.
User who cannot touch to screen or to other touch input device can interact with it, as a uniform interaction between non touchscreen accessories and touch input devices will be made possible here. Interaction between the touchscreen device and non touch accessory could be standardized using which, users would be able to interact with touchscreen devices and use common commands for all user interfaces.

Accessibility framework here could be configured so the more than one user can access the device. The accessibility framework with enhanced access to the device would provide the user with touch input if he is unable to view the screen, besides providing facilities like Braille support and screen reading facility.
