Apple patents smart bike system with iPhone/iPod compatibility

An Apple’s patent application disclosed by Patently Apple reveals a newly advanced Smart Bicycle System that Apple could have in the making. The patent system shows how an user would be able to turn iPhone/iPod into a bike computer, displaying all info regarding course details, speed, altitude, distance, heart rate, power, future path etc. According to the patent, the system could be used by a single cyclist, or by a team to communicate their stats to each other when on a ride, courtesy the built-in sensors of the iPhone or iPod and the bike sensors itself.
