Apple likely to announce the much awaited iPad 2 on March 2

Amid the concerns about Apple CEO and co-founder Steve Jobs’ health, Apple is reportedly going to announce release date of its Apple iPad 2. According to some secret sources that have information about Apple things, the Cupertino technology giant will announce second generation of its iPad tablet PC next Wednesday at a media event in San Francisco. Kara Swisher of All Things D has unraveled the new speculation on Apple iPad 2, which has been a hot topic on the Web since the dawn of 2011. As per Apple’s annul product release pattern, Apple is expected to unveil Apple iPad 2 in April 2011. The original Apple iPad hit the stores in April 2010. But rumors have been spreading that Apple will only bring out its Apple iPad 2 in June 2011 due to some important design changes needed for the device. Indeed, All Things D in its report on Apple iPad 2 confirms the announcement date as Wednesday, March 2, 2011. The Apple iPad 2 announcement function will most likely take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, the report said.

Apple iPad 2 is likely to sport a number of new features. The device will indeed rectify the shortcomings of its predecessor such as dual cameras, USB port and microSD slot. With the runaway success of Apple’s iOS video chatting application FaceTime, Apple immediately needs to slot in a front-facing camera on its upcoming iPad 2. Similarly, we can hope a better performing rear camera on the device. Apple iPad 2 is further expected to have a better design and look form first generation iPad. It may even sport Apple iPhone 4’s famous Retina Display for better clarity and visuals.
