Apple iPad 3 could be a reality soon, 10 things we expect to see

You may call it ludicrous, you may call it propitious but there are some clear sounding rumors echoing and reverberating through out the tablet computer dominion, and they are calling out for none other than the exalted Apple 'iPad 3'. Now, Apple has neither introduced nor even acknowledged (at least officially) of any such ongoing project, but if the 'credible' grapevines are to be trusted, we can experience the next iteration of the iPad much sooner than we think. So let us check out the 10 new features or improvements we expect to see in the namesake 'iPad 3'. 1. A 3D Display:

With Apple's recent dabbling with patent applications incorporating 3D technology, it actually doesn't come as some deliriously far fetched thing. As a matter of fact many sources are already proclaiming that Apple's very latest tablet will boast a 3D display, and such a feature is already in its advanced stage of integration. We for one cannot obviously certify such claims, but in an interesting development - earlier this year, Japanese blog Macotakara cited sources who claimed that Apple’s LCD supplier was working on a small 3D display panel for the iPod touch, which would use advanced head tracking to provide 3D without glasses. 2. A Retina Display:

Many of Apple's aficionados (and tablet enthusiasts for that matter) were seriously perturbed when previous predictions scored a zilch in saying iPad 2 would incorporate Retina Display. And now accepting the winds of change, many are predicting of its incorporation in iPad 3. However, IDC Analyst Tom Mainelli says that Apple’s already working on an iPad with a 2048 x 1536 resolution Retina Display, but it won't be next-generation device. 3. An A6 processor:

With its dual core A5, Apple claimed that the CPU was twice as powerful and the GPU up to nine times as powerful as its predecessor, the Apple A4. And now Apple is all set to notch up a level by by their A6 quadcore processor, that is if we go by the expectancy of Miles Jacobson, Studio Director of the famous Football Manager simulation games. 4. Apple iOS 4.3:

With Apple iOS 4.3 being released just two days before the launch of iPad 2, this is the feature that is surely to be inducted (or even its improved version of iOS 5) in the new Apple tablet. Moreover, Apple will always look forth to enhance its OS's reputation by advancing many of its attributes, especially in view of the paltry 16 percent market share in the separate smartphone's operating system. 5. Inclusion of NFC chip:

According to another rumor that is doing rounds in the Cult of Mac suggests that the iPhone 5 will use NFC to take over nearby Macs. Now from a logical perspective, if iPad 3 comes after iPhone 5, it is surely expected to feature NPC, especially if we take in to account Apple's recent tryst with the short-range wireless Near Field Communication technology. 6. A higher resolution:

Appleinsider reported according to indications provided by Ming-Chi Kuo of Concord Securities that the iPad 3 may exhibit a higher 2048x1536 resolution, but for this exclusive feature to be integrated the release date can be pushed back to much further than September. 7. USB Port:

The million dollar question still lingers in our minds - why does the previous two generations of iPads do not have any USB ports? So, again as a logical marketing as well as customer satisfaction policy, iPad 3 should (and is expected to) include the ubiquitous USB connecting system. This in turn will at least allow them to be in par with (in terms of direct connection) other tablets and laptops in the thriving market. 8. 4G connectivity:

4G connectivity being still in its nascent stage, is actually expected to be a full fledged technology in its prime developed form when the iPad 3 would make its foray into the market. So the strategic timing can rather help Apple to incorporate 4G connectivity in the iPad 3, like it has already been announced for the upcoming Motorola Zoom. 9. Thunderbolt Port:

Thunderbolt was developed by Intel and brought to market with technical collaboration from Apple Inc. With its bit-rate of 10Gbit/sec, and expected bit-rate of the improved version (can be included in iPad 3) to be of a whopping 100Gbit/sec, the accessory/display is surely to exhibit an astonishingly fast performance. 10. A carbon fiber case:

Before iPad 2 was released, many of us thought that if the sturdy yet lightweight carbon fiber could be integrated in automobiles, then why not in tablet devices. Needless to say that our prayers were not answered, but with Apple's hiring of a carbon fiber expert, i.e. senior composites engineer Kevin Kenney, the rumor machine is fueled once again; as this it is hoped to be right.
