In a world of patents for useful electronics, we have Apple filing a biometric security patent application for the iPhone and Mac. This application could see the iPhones and Macs with biometric reader hidden within to provide the devices with a more secure way to prevent unauthorized access.

Why useful and beneficial

The use of biometric technology in the devices would allow users to lock their iPhones and Macs with fingerprints and/or with the use of facial recognition software. The patent wishes to embed a biometric sensor within the device, and if that’s made possible by Apple, then you users can stop worrying about the forgotten passwords and your kin playing around with the gadget in your absence. For your iPhone will only read your finger patterns and your face…wow!
