We’ll were expecting Apple to finally roll out its top-of-the-line 17-inch MacBook Pro just in time with the National Association of Broadcasters conference and its true. The 17′ high-end model comes with 1680 x 1050 LCD display with 300 cd/m2 brightness and is powered by 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo processor.

The new MacBook Pro is pitched at $2,799 and why not when it’s designed to surpass the performance of PowerBook G4, which has been removed by Apple for now, though the 12′ PowerBook G4 is still available, by five times owing to its all new system architecture embellished with 1GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM RAM that can be expanded to 2GB, an 8X dual-layer burner and a 120GB 5400 RPM hard drive further boosted by an optional 100GB 7200 RPM drive and FireWire 800 port.

Weighing just 6.8 pounds, the 17′ MacBook Pro is a perfect bargain as its priced close to the 2.16GHz 15-inch model.
