Internet as you all know can do wonders but the whole system can be embedded in an umbrella to forecast weather is a thing you might never have heard of.
Ambient Devices, a company that specializes in integrating Internet information into normal use products have integrated the intelligence of the internet into an umbrella that can warn you of rain or a thunder storm. The umbrella comes with a radio receiver in its handle that remains connected with a site Accuweather.com via a proprietary wireless network. The result is weather feedback for 150 U.S. locations.
The umbrella makes use of different light signals to depict different weather conditions. If the forecast is of rain in the next 12 hours, the umbrella’s handle lights up. A slow blinking signal means that you can expect light rain while a rapid blink means a thunderstorm.
The umbrella is powered by a battery and requires you to activate the umbrella to the service via a customer service phone line. This hi-tech umbrella will be available in stores this week and will be priced at $140.
