Power, mobility and information are the most critical aspects on a battlefield. Defense agencies are devising ways to meet the growing demand for novel informative equipment, and in event American Reliance (AMREL) has introduced a rugged and wearable computer system for all handheld and diverse needs.

Equipped with a 128GB solid state drive, the HC-2, as they call it, runs Window XP. Measuring less than 2 pounds and 6- x 4-inches in size, the AMREL HC-2 is powered by an Intel Atom processor, and given the light weight and small form factor, the computer with connectivity to military tactical radios fits well inside a cargo pocket and can be decreased to be made wearable.

Complying with the military “MIL-STD 810F” standards and featuring a 5-inch sunlight readable touchscreen, the rugged HC-2 is made to survive all weather and extreme conditions. A feature which sets this system apart from the others is that the HC-2 offers multi-tasking capabilities which include data collection, battlefield diagnostics and sensor monitoring.
