AMP camera makes capturing real-time HDR videos as easy as playing a game

Contrast Optical is about to launch a new range of video cameras capable of capturing real time HDR videos. Until today, if you wanted to create an HDR video, you would be spending hours in trying to combine the different footage taken together. But now the time has come when you will forget all these hassles, because this AMP video camera shoots HDR videos in real time.

According to the company's website, this amazing video camera is going to be showcased at Siggraph this year. This AMP video camera shoots and then merges three different exposure brackets which result in a high dynamic range footage. The HDR videos and photos when captured the right way, look magical.

The AMP video camera is special because instead of using two different cameras to capture an underexposed and overexposed video, combines these together. This camera uses a single lens which has two beam-splitters to perform the same task. With this camera, taking a video with different range of colors and effects is not difficult because it has three different sensors to provide a range of 17 aperture stops.

Though the footage might look pretty ugly, but this HDR video could open the opportunities for visualizing the concept art for video games and cinema. You can check out the sample footage of how the camera works in the video below.
