AMD has introduced three quad-core processors that might change the way desktop CPU market works these days. Phenom X4 9950 Black Edition is AMD’s latest flagship desktop CPU which seems to consume a lot of power and is targeted specifically at overclockers and enthusiasts. The other two processors, the Phenom X4 9350e and the 9150e consume a lot less power and have a slower clock speed. The new flagship Phenom X4 9950, however, consumes more power because, to achieve its 2.6 GHz clock speed, the chip requires 1.05 - 1.03 volts. Technically, they all come with almost the same configurations and features and differ only in the clock speed. The X4 9950 has a max TDP of 140 watts where as, the other two consume 65W which actually makes them the most power friendly desktop quad core processors in the market. Seems like the new AMD processors have something more than just the regular features available on other processors.
