Advanced Micro Devices(AMD) have succeeded in developing a prototype PC for the living room.

Many computer manufacturers like Compaq and Gateway have been struggling on designing such a PC which has good looks and great features so that they can become a part of the living room, but until now no one had ever managed to make one.
AMD's PC will function as a media vault and will be able to store music, videos, TV shows and photos and will be able to display them on a flat-panel TV or other PCs.
In early 2004, Intel launched EPC, which was designed to make a place in the living room but its bulky appearance, and noisy fans cut down its sales.
There are some Intel-based computers that have made place in the living room but they cannot be termed as PCs. Toshiba's HD DVD Player runs on an Intel x86 chip and some other set top boxes also feature Intel chips but they are not PCs.
But due to some advancements in the chip cooling technology AMD has succeeded in making a PC for the living room.
