Upgrading its much popular and still offered AiW X1900, ATI have released the All-in-Wonder HD card. The graphics/TV tuner card combination promises to deliver faster graphics via a much improved TV tuner chip along with HDTV capabilities. Featuring a PCIe 2.0 interface, the HD card is based in on the Theater Pro 650 chip and is capable of supporting free over-the-air HDTV playback as well as HDTV and analog TV recording. With a graphics chip based on the 600-series 55 nm graphics core that clocked at 725 MHz (memory: 600 MHz), the updated card apparently can even beat a Radeon HD 3650 by 5-15% in popular games in terms of graphic performance. With support for Blu-ray in full 1080p resolution playback, the card also includes ClearQAM, a hardware MPEG-2 encoder (as well as VC-1 and H.264 acceleration), an adaptive 3D comb filter as well as a native HDMI interface, and is set to retail for $199.
