Amazon's next gen Kindle Fire tablet could come in 8.9-inch avatar

It’s been a month when we have heard a lot about the world’s lowest cost tablet called Kindle Fire from Amazon. After this successful project, rumors have spread across that Amazon is preparing to launch an 8.9 inches Avatar in the tablet market. Is it true? Well, we are still probing as no concrete announcements are made by Amazon. Yet, sources who are close to Amazon say that this plan has already been made for the next-gen tablet.

As of now, we can only claim it as a rumor and nothing else until announcements are made by Amazon. When the Kindle Fire was lined up to launch, its news have sparked rumble in the tablet world. Since then, people are keeping tab on the movement of Amazon. After a month, now we are hearing that Amazon could offer an 8.9 inches Avatar to the world. At first, rumors have leaked out that this new device will sport its 10.1 inches display. However, Yen Chen and Steve Chen from Digitimes have also stated that the Avatar will receive an 8.9 inches display, as similar as the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Though, when it comes to the specifications, we wonder there would be no similarity. As per the sources, there are possibilities that Amazon launch a 9.7 or 10.1 inches model in the coming year. If in case, the company launches a 9.7 inches tablet then it will directly come under the competition with Apple’s 9.7 inches iPad.

Amazon’s Kindle Fire was offered at just $199. It is a 7 inches tablet which is powered by Android. However, to bring the price of this tablet at a lower level, Amazon has skipped the integration of in-demand features such as 3G, microphone and camera. However, Wi-Fi was offered along with Amazon Prime (30-day free trial). Here, users have to pay $79 a year to get a Prime membership. Where Kindle Fire received all these features, judgments are made about the rumored specifications of this tablet accordingly. We must not miss out the point that it is just a rumor still where complete attention is given to the Avatar and its launching date. Apart from this, recent research also states that Amazon may launch an 8.9 inches display and not 10 inch display.

The unknown

Apart from the measurement of the tablet, we are still unknown of the fact when it comes to the overall specs. Whether this new rumored tablet will be powered by an Android OS or something else and will it receive the name of a high-end tablet or not is the prime concern. Besides, we also don’t know one thing that if this news is true then when exactly it will be set to launch. However, Amazon is still playing hide and seek and is taking time to leak out the secrets. All in all, we do have to wait until the tablet gets its integration done and is set to roll out at pace.

This is possible as we know the name of this new device – Avatar. Until now, Amazon was busy catering supplier orders as the demand for Kindle Fire was increasing and the company had had to meet all the demands of its customers. However now, the company can turn its attention toward its next creation and so we can expect this model to make a bashing entry in the coming year. The small Kindle Fire is more into serving content as an e-reader, but the bigger device can bring bigger features including content creation and rich media (videos).

What if it’s true

If in case, this rumor gets more power and become a reality, you can expect that Amazon is preparing for a big jump. This new device will not be called as a normal tablet, but will represent the phase of a next generation high-end tablet. Moreover, there would be no comparison between Kindle Fire and Avatar as Kindle Fire was made to offer at lower price with integrated normal features whereas; Avatar would be offering great features. Still, we cannot expect it to be a high-end tablet to compete directly to the iPad. Here, things can change their course!

With such less information, we cannot simply hop to a conclusion as Amazon may have some other plans in mind about which we are completely unaware. So, we have to wait until Amazon reveals the news in front of public.
