Amazon’s full-grown tablet Kindle is to realize sooner, rumor mills suggest. Amazon Kindle that has been living only in rumors for sometime around is speculatively nearing an official launch. The tablet will be an advanced Kindle with full color 7-inch screen. Google Android will run on the tablet. Amazon, recognized for its Kindle e-reader, has reportedly decided to get into the tablet market to compete with Apple iPad.

According to MG Siegler of Tech Crunch, Amazon is to roll out the much-touted 7-inch version of Kindle in November this year. The company will introduce the 10-inch version early next year. Mr. Siegler is one of key sources for fresh information on the arrival of an Amazon tablet. However, he has not shared any images of the potential gadget. Because, it was on the condition he was offered the top secrets on the device, he reveals in a recent article.
Mr. Siegler has seen a DVT (Design Verification Testing) unit of the Kindle tablet. Amazon initially planned to release both the 7-inch and 10-inch versions of Kindle at the same time. But in last summer the company changed the plan. Amazon will now bring into reality the larger and pricier version in Q1 2012 only.
The pricing is one another much-debated issue on the Amazon tablet. Siegler suggests the price will be around $250. Of course, Amazon should price the device almost equivalent to Apple iPad and Barnes & Noble’s Nook Corner. Otherwise, the device will find it hard to get attention in the market. Only a cheaper price will make a tablet from Amazon a success.
The prototype model of Amazon Kindle highlights all essential features of a typical tablet. The device’s home screen shows up applications, books, movies and many others. The device has no physical button in the front panel. You can get back into the home menu tapping the screen once. The tablet features the famous Kindle app for e-reading, Cloud Player for music playing and Instant Video player for movie watching. Android AppStore, not Android Market, seems to be the official app store.
The Amazon Kindle tablet, the Tech Crunch reporter played with ran on Android 2.2 Gingerbread. It is not clear whether the official version will play on the tablet-customized Android 3.0 or Honeycomb or the upcoming Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich. The Kindle UI is the interface of the tablet. It has a default Web browser.
The battle against Apple iPad and other Android devices like Samsung Galaxy Tab and Motorola Xoom will not be an easy job for Amazon. The company might have come out with its tablet plan well realizing the grit challenge out in the market. The Kindle e-reader maker will have some strategies on how to sell the product in the crowding tablet market.
