AllGo in India demonstrates $50 Android-based prototype tablet

Posted By: Bharat BhushanSharma | Aug 24 2010

Creating tablets at a throw-away price seems to be becoming a trend in India. While India’s claim of a $10 laptop was only a vaporware, the recently revealed $35 tablet seems to stand ground to shock the world when it is real next year. To join the party, Bangalore-based AllGo Embedded Systems has developed a prototype tablet which will cost only $50 – another price shocker coming out of India. Scheduled to run Android OS, the 7-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen tablet called ‘"Stamp" includes USB, Wi-Fi and an Ethernet port. It may be too early to consider the $50 tablet a real product, but the video below shows that it could be a certainty in the near future.
