Sure we’ve seen a lot of head-mounted displays in our time, but there’s been nothing like the Brother Industries AiRScouter ever. Shown at the Brother World Japan 2010, the AiRScouter is a head-mounted transparent display which projects images directly onto the retina of the user’s eye. The display projects images on the retina using persistence of vision effect. This is done by shining a light at a brightness that’s safe for the eye, which creates an impression that there’s a transparent 16-inch screen floating a meter in front of the eye. The AiRScouter could soon find applicable use in our daily life, are we waiting? Thoughts?
