Unmanned surveillance vehicles are doing security personals real good. They haven’t made major inroads into our security agencies just yet, but makers are doing their best to develop aerial vehicle systems, which cater to security needs in future. Tapping the market lately, is a Canada based firm, Aeryon which delivers the Aeryon Scout, two-pound robot helicopter with unimaginable intelligence.
The mini-helicopter kit has intelligence and stability control fitted within; using which it can be guided to fly to just any point mentioned (by pointing) on a Google Map-based interface. Small enough to fit inside a suitcase-sized crate, the bot is easy to assemble on the field. Capability to fly at 30mph for 20 minutes at 500-feet above ground, the Aeryon Scout after reaching the desired location can send back images to the base, clicked efficiently by a 5MP motion-compensated camera stationed aboard.
A single Aeryon Scout kit cost $50,000. If you want a flying demo or want to buy the scout, you’ll have to reach Canada, because the company cannot commercially use it elsewhere before a United States FAA approval - for which the Areyon has already filed a nomination.
