I’m up for the day when supersonic jets would fly us around the world. Speed wouldn’t come cheap, therefore the travel is surely going to burn holes in our pocket, so for the time being let the rich exult the thrill and the riches too. That said, for the business community Nevada’s Aerion Corporation is doing an $80 million Supersonic Business Jet, we’ve been hearing of for a while now. The maker’s are officially claiming this 12 passenger supersonic jet, which is slated for a 50-seat version, to do Mach 1.5 (1,840 km/h), with a range of 4,000 miles. Expected to mesmerize us with the speed in 2014, in the US, owing to the Federal Aviation Administration’s sonic boom restrictions, the Aerion Supersonic Business Jet will only hit speeds of Mach 0.98. Elsewhere though the SBJ will hit Mach 1.5 – which means a Paris to New York flight would take just four hours and 14 minutes and a flight from the US East Coast to Asia will take nine hours 30 minutes only.
