Development of smoking prevention and smoking-cessation strategies, now hopes get more authentic as electronic word stretched its hand to assist in verification of age limit necessary to be able to buy cigarette. Kyoto-based vending machine maker and marketer Fujitaka tested their new adult recognition machine on 500 people, which included people of various ages, from teens to those in their 60 with 90 % accuracy.
The machine does all this with a press on ‘adult recognition’ button to click a photo from an integrated camera and then analyzing certain features such as wrinkles, eyes, mouth and physic of buyer via face-recognition software. If that doesn’t work, machine will demand driving license for a match with photograph, before it drops cigarettes for the purchaser.
That means little smoker will need some adult friends to get rid of this headache.
