Adtec to introduce an e-book reader this September

e-book readers have become a rage, it seems just about everyone wants his share in the market. In event, Adtec is set to release its e-book at the end of September this year in Japan. Based on the Foxit Software’s eSlick software and Prime View International’s OEM device, the e-book reader like the others uses E-Ink technologies black and white e-paper. With an 800 x 600 pixel 6-inch display screen and USB and SD memory card slots, the reader lacks wireless connectivity. Adtec wishes to release a new model e-book reader featuring color e-paper and Wi-Fi sometime by 2010. For now, coming next month, the Adtec e-book reader will be sold exclusively by Adtec under Foxit for about ¥30,000 (approx. $319).
