Adroit hack enables Android gaming using Super Nintendo controller

When you ask any gaming buff worth his salt what's his favorite possession in this world, he would quite nonchalantly and truthfully answer - his Super Nintendo Entertainment System. But clearly the 90's conventions have fallen behind and now it's time for all those highfalutin Android touchscreen mumbo-jumbo. But wait there is still light at the end of the tunnel; well, that's what this user has showed us by ingeniously contriving his very own Android hack, which utilizes a Super Nintendo controller.

If you have any shed of doubt regarding the truth of the matter, just banish it and read on. The user figured out how the system of the controller’s signaling works, and then wired it up to an Arduino Pro Mini 328. The Arduino basically helps to interpret the SNES controller’s signals, and then transmits them to the Android phone via a BlueSMiRF Bluetooth module.

He even took a small step ahead (and a greater step for the gaming kind!) by designing an adjoining module to a SNES controller. This painted and adequately finished enclosure incorporates all the paraphernalia of his convenient hack.

Well you can always go through the tutorial, if you are 'ambitious' enough to conceive one of these for yourself. And also don't forget to the check out the video of this 'history in making' (for those with a nostalgic soft corner for SNES).
