Law enforcement officers, who patrol the nation’s highways, will use AcuNetx’s HawkEye at sobriety-check points and field evaluation sites to restrict and identify drivers who move recklessly under the influence of alcohol or any other substance. The Infrared video capture device was handed over to the national law enforcement community in two separate venues: the Governors Highway Safety Association meeting in Oklahoma City, and the invitation-only Advisory Council meeting of the government’s Office of Law Enforcement Technology Commercialization meeting in Charleston, S.C. The system also provides a video record which can be used in a court of law to facilitate prosecution.
