Acer floats Iconia Tab A100 into stores for a price $330

Acer’s much-talked-about 7-inch Iconia Tab A100 has hit the U.S. stores. The 8GB version of the Acer tablet has a price tag of $329.99 and the 16GB version is up with a price of $350. The Android 3.2 tablet has been largely reviewed by analysts. The tablet is slightly slimmer than HTC’s featured 7-inch Android tablet Flyer.

Iconia Tab A100’s 7-inch form factor has been well-appreciated since the official announcement of the device. Its screen has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The LCD display is bright, but is criticized for not having competitive viewing angles. Analysts have also blamed the insane glossy rear panel and bezel of the tablet.

However, the small and portable tablet is up with some great technical specifications. Tab A100 packs in a high-performing NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor and 1GB RAM. For better gaming experience, Acer has slotted in Ultra Low Power GeForce GPU. A stronger 1530 mAh Li-polymer battery provides five hours of battery life while internet browsing and 4.5 hours while playing video.

Acer has not made any more improvements on the device’s firmware. Running on Honeycomb OS, the tablet has a few applications and widgets preinstalled. The device has been proven as performing worse when navigating in portrait mode and handling with some key apps.

Whatever, the device will be a great option for those who look for a smaller Android tablet PC. Apart from HTC Flyer, we also have another great choice from Taiwan. This time, it is from Acer, however.
