Acer details the 11-inch Aspire One 722 notebook

Acer has recently launched the new Aspire 722 which has the same look and feel as its preceding model 721. It boasts an 11.6 inch sleek monitor with a processor speed of 1 GHz. It continues to have the ripples design in moulded plastic which was so famous in the Acer 257 netbook version. This is topped up by an extremely fast processing capability which is better than other models in its class.

What to expect:

The most distinguishing feature of Acer’s Aspire One 722 is that this product brings across a sleek model which also enables the user to play back songs extremely well at 1080p videos. It has also two significantly enhanced speakers, while its earlier model had only one speaker. Apart from the excellent display which is unique to the product, its display configuration are ATi Radeon, AMD C50 CPU and optimum screen display of 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. Battery life has been another exceptionally improved feature with life of around 7 hours.

In comparison, the Aspire One 722 fares better than its competitors like Dell and IBM. Its largest unique selling proposition is the extended battery life of seven hours which is probably the best for this type of laptops anywhere in the world. Its water drop embossing on the cover is also eye-catching and attractive. Its double stereo speaker combination is an improvement on this class of laptops from Acer.

What not to expect:

Pricing for the Aspire One 722 is a marginal grey area for prospective customers. It is however expected that the pricing would not be substantially different from its earlier versions. Global availability is also unlikely to happen simultaneously across all geographies.

Wrap up:

Its stylish looks and enhanced features probably make this model from the Acer stable stand out in the crowd. Given its configuration, gaming experience is likely to be substantially enhanced. The CPU speed is also expected to be substantially faster. However, review pundits are reserving their final comments till a higher usage pattern is observed among customers in the days to come.
