Abacus is big in the East. And despite countries like China and Japan being home to cheapest (not a value judgment) electronic stuff, they’d rather calculate the ancient way than with the modern bits and bytes. So right on cue is iPhone Abacus. This software would install on your phone an application that would transform the iPhone into a digital abacus. The beads would of course be moved up and down using the available touch-screen. And to restore the beads to their original position a little shake of the iPhone is required. Designed by Kako-san, a Japanese geek, the iPhone Abacus will give any calculator a run for its money. However, the fact that a very ancient device is being produced on a very modern one strikes one as quite ironic. See this bit in action after hitting more.
