A touch-screen Game Boy Color mod; now I've seen it all!
So it's your usual (obsolete one might say) Game Boy Color. Or is it? Take a second look baby coz this one's got a touch-screen. And I ain't kiddin'.
The GBC has a brand new mod and some evil genius has equipped it with a touch-screen. To make things crystal clear, this one's not a concept or a trick photography. The creator claims it's a unique but functional modification. And the best part of all, it is for sale here.
The touch-screen installed on this GBC is not on the same level as that on a DS, but does represent a piece of creativity. The touch-screen is not capable of interacting with what appears on the screen, but incorporates the actual GBC controls on the screen. Thus, all the six buttons viz. the four direction buttons and the two action buttons can be invoked on the screen itself. For instance, you turn right by simply touching the right portion of the screen.
And what would be the touch-screen without a cute little stylus with a slot? No problemo, the mod takes care of that as well. And to top it all, it also provides an embedded light panel.
Apparently, the creator of this prototype spent a lot of time and effort. So it is quite expensive, priced at $145. There are two options for you. If you do value innovation and ingenuity, buy it. Or you could get yourself a DS instead. The choice is yours.
