Exoskeletons have been used to assist people with injuries, the handicapped and also those who are unable to use their organs efficiently. Yoshiyuki Sankai has developed a unique exoskeleton for a single arm that is aimed at the aged. The aged person could use the exoskeleton to improve their strength and also give support to their arms while using it. One must remember that the aged find it difficult to use arms for prolonged periods. It consists of a tabard that is worn a motorized exoskeleton. Worn around the shoulder, it senses angle, torque and nerve impulses of the arm to let the elderly user to function better.
