
A Japanese quadriplegic Seiji Uchida, 43 and Kyoga Ide a 16-year old high school student with muscular dystrophy will ascend the great Swiss mountain on the back of a mountaineer powered by a robotic suit HAL.
Developed by Yoshiyuki Sankai Tsukuba University engineering professor, HAL is a wearable robot or motorized exoskeleton operated same way normal human movements and actions are operated. But what sets this robot apart form humans is that it is stronger being able to carry 28 stones compared to normal human range of 15. And it is this trait that Uchida and Ide will bank on to fulfill their dreams.
