Microsoft's plan to release its newest version of operating system, Windows 8 has got leaked recently. According to reports, it is slated to release in 2012, while the Beta version comes out in 2011 itself. This new OS boasts of various features such as webcam-login, an appstore containing thousand apps, faster startup or shutdown, built-in PDF reader and many more. For whom The Windows 8 is said to come with new and breathtakingly astonishing features. It is absolutely ideal for all Windows loyalists, be it students or professionals. Price and availability There is yet no news about the price of this new Windows OS, neither is anything known about its availability. Why the hype? It appears that the new Windows 8 has got an application called Modern Reader, that is quite a rage among the bloggers already. It is deemed as Microsoft's very own version of PDF Reader. According to bloggers Rafael Rivera and Paul Thurrott, this application works on Microsoft's new AppX application package type. This AppX was identified by Thurrott in January. Functionality Hybrid boot One of the newly known features of Windows 8 is Hybrid boot that allows the system to start up quicker after it shuts down. It uses the advanced hibernation functionality. Kinect and facial recognition support according to reports, Microsoft is integrating its Kinect technology and some facial recognition features that can "detect human presence". Instead of logging in with your username and password, your webcam will detect your approaching and turn on the system automatically. Portable workspace Windows 8 is offering users the option to store a copy of their OS on a USB drive and boot it up on other PCs. The USB should be at least 16GB. SmartScreen filter protection It is a security module of Internet Explorer and other protective applications of Microsoft. It is good for those who does not use Windows Internet Explorer or Messenger, as it works for a third party security software. Cloud syncing This tool allows users to sync files and folders from local PC with a cloud-based service. It is also likely to support third party services. Streaming manager It will apparently allow users to run a program even before that is fully downloaded. Built-in PDF reader Windows 8's Modern Reader, though can't probably support some of the advanced features of Acrobat Reader, but is good for opening and printing PDF files. It can be updated directly through Windows Update.
