Apparently now, one has to hunt no more for the perfect beats and rhythm to create a perfect mix of a song, one can just touch it with contaminated fingers and leave bacteria to thrive on the CD and the little guys will take care of it. A Melbourne-based scientist, Dr. Cameron Jones, who also happens to own a night club discovered that growing micro organisms on the compact discs can alter the sound of music and images in them to an unrecognizable extent. Named the ‘optical biocomputer’ by its inventor, these bacteria, yeast and fungi can give rise to such fractal music and one can hear small staccato noises and micro interferences throughout the tracks. That’s one dirty remix, ain’t it?
