Computer Engineers Christopher Jaynes and Stephen Webb have unveiled a Hi-Tech display technology, named Mersive that does all the aligning and viewing by itself.

The base of the technology is runtime software called Sol™ that calibrates the multi projector arrays into a seamless display. In addition, the software takes just minutes to configure itself. The calibration is a two-stage process:
In the first stage, the software uses a video camera to take input from a display and redirects it to the individual projectors.
In the second stage, the software collects information from the display and the Sol server can determine the layout of the projectors and finds the way to display the best picture.
Sol™ then uses a digital camera to compute the geometric, intensity and the color-blending parameters for a perfect seamless display. All this is done in minutes not days and a human counterpart can never imitate the image quality.
The creators of this technology commented:
"Think about tying together eight projectors in your basement to have a beautiful home theater," Jaynes said. "Or two gamers could come together and project their games' content together on a surface. When somebody else gets a projector for Christmas, they could do it too.
