JVC, Victor Company of Japan Ltd. has developed that can be said worlds largest 110-inch Rear Projection System named HD-ILA Hybrid rear projection television prototype.
The screen measures 243.5 x 137 cm. The screen has not been produced by coupling a plurality of parts but has been put together as a unitary component by Toppan Printing Co. Ltd.
The display device is JVCs reflective liquid crystal panel ‘D-ILA’ that has the resolution of 1920×1080. The optical system and the light source used are similar to those of 50-inch and 60-inch commercial product. The power consumption is 220W.
There is no news on when this will be commercially available.
