Harp all you want about new sources of juice, conventional batteries still remain accessible and ubiquitous. An Israeli firm Techtium designed a technology called Backuppower and chose Philips’ cell phone as testing ground. 9@9j is the first-ever mobile phone to tout a slot for AAA battery. If you’re stuck in somewhere and the lithium ion battery gives in, worry not, insert a AAA and talk for up to three hours. With that out of the way, a little on the phone itself. 9@9j, despite all the weirdness oozing in the name is a pretty lame looking device. This one hits shelves in April, go for it if you are big on AAA and ugly phones.
