When Samsung brought Super AMOLED Plus, we thought that was a good screen. And now, Samsung is out with its latest display technology, the Super AMOLED HD screen, which is already being talked about as one of the best displays on a larger screen. So, let's see what is it that you can expect out of your phone with this new Super AMOLED HD screen once it comes in the market.

1. High resolution apps
Handsets with the Super-AMOLED HD screens would sport a very high resolution of 1280x720, which means the colors would be more vivid, the images would be more crisp and sharp and there would also be a high contrast ratio. With such great screen quality, the app developers would have to upscale the graphics of their apps. For the users, this spells a high quality games and apps with admirable graphics and real life like experiences with the games. It's a win win situation for the consumers.
2. HD in your pocket
There are quite a number of phones in the market at present that can record content in HD. But, there are hardly any that can playback the videos taken in HD at their native resolution. You might say iPhone 4 does play HD content, which is true but there's a difference in the screen size. iPhone's screen is much smaller at 3.5 inch whereas the Super AMOLED HD screen is meant for the screens of larger size like 4.3 or 5.3 inches. Therefore, with a screen like Super AMOLED HD, you would be able to not only record HD videos but also playback in their original resolution.
3. Less battery consumption
Power consumption in a portable electronics device is of great importance. Lately, we all have realized the fact that the smartphones are not very good in managing power. Thus, the manufacturing companies are now trying to do their best to come up with ways to minimize the power consumption of the smartphones. The AMOLED displays have higher refresh rates and display black pixels, which helps it to consume less power and thus last longer.
4. Brighter and clear
We already have seen the Super AMOLED Plus screen on the Samsung Galaxy S II and there's no denying the fact that the screen is much brighter. The photos, apps, text and videos look richer and are much easier on the eye. The predecessor screens of Samsung have already established their worth in the market. And with the recently released videos of Samsung Galaxy Note, which uses the latest display from Samsung and looks immensely crisp and sharp, you can imagine how good the screen quality would be.
5. Super-AMOLED uses PenTile matrix
The recently introduced display technology by Samsung uses PenTile or RG-BG display, which is different than the RGB stripe used on the Super AMOLED Plus screens. Although, Samsung had ditched the PenTile Matrix technology before for a better AMOLED display, it has once again picked it up. This time they have worked towards improving the resolution and the efficiency of the PenTIle Matrix for a better display. And if Galaxy Note, which features this new type of display, is anything to go by then Samsung surely has put an significant amount of effort in enhancing the display quality. The display in Galaxy Note is quite spectacular and is already being considered as the best display ever.
