Cary Norton, a camera enthusiast, has recently developed a 4x5 camera built totally with the LEGO bricks. This unique camera uses numerous LEGO brick and is absolutely functional. It has a lens, lens board, glass slot to hold the film along with some compartments made of LEGOS. Though the camera has certain limitations, it has performed very well in taking portraits and similar photographs. What's more, the designer is thinking of an upgrade as well.

The Legotron Mark I, as the camera is officially named, has a lens with a focal range starting from 18 inches to 3 feet. It cannot focus on infinity. The camera has an internal box which can be moved forward and backward to achieve the focus. Because of the specific focal range, the camera may not be good at anything than portrait. However, when tried in appropriate conditions, this camera has produced some stunning pictures.
Cary Norton, the designer of this camera has professed that he is contemplating on the next version of the camera Legotron Mark II. According to him, this version is likely to have a better focal range. Also, he is thinking about placing a pinhole lens board. For now, his Mark I uses plexi sounded by fine grits for the ground glass.
The camera has a dimension of 7x 6.5x 7 inches. The 127mm and f4.7 lens installed inside the camera shoots 4 x 5 plates. Norton has bought the camera from eBay at the price of $40.
Carry was contemplating on creating a LEGO camera for quite a few months. First, he tried the LEGO builder app in the computer to figure out the design before starting the real project. However, he gave up that approach and started building his LEGO after borrowing numerous LEGO bricks from his friend. After a few attempts, he finally came up with the design.
