NTT DoCoMo and FOMA are offering 3G phones even for kids. The phones are cute and designed in a round shaped specially for kids and are easy to use as well.
It allows the parents to give their kids a sense of security as and when they are returning home late in the night.
On the other hand, it also shows the irresponsibility on the part of parents. The SA800i phone for the kids comes in bright colours which are liked by the kids. Another drawback that the phone carries is that when the parents are out, the children keep themselves busy on the phone resulting in hefty bills.
Well, you have to pay a price for everything. But, all in all it is a good innovation.
