Scanner creates realistic 3D models of crime scenes
With new developments in forensic research and analyzing tools, it has become very difficult for a suspect to escape from the eyes of police. This new 3D scanner further adds on to their skills and can help them view a scene more minutely and accurately.

A New Zealand company called Industrial Research has created this scanner equipped with a digital camera coupled with an on board laser which can display a 3D model of any scene. The system takes just two minutes to analyze the scene and displays a 3D computer image, true to color and texture, that can be rotated or used to create "fly-throughs" of a room.
The best feature of this scanner is that unlike other 3D scanners it can be moved freely over the area to be monitored and has no need to adjust it to different positions for different views.
