The story in the fifth edition of Capcom’s adaptation of Resident Evil movie series takes place thirteen years after the destruction of Raccoon City in the first three Resident Evil games. Chris Redfield is now a member of an anti-bioweapon organization known as the BSAA. It’s for the first time in a hardcore RE game that co-op is such a major component. You can play RE5 in split screen or system link and having another real player along completely changes the way you experience the game. You can always play by yourself and have the Artificial Intelligence control Sheva Alomar, another BSAA agent, but it isn’t as effective as a human player would be. You can certainly beat the game in this way but to enjoy the full experience you have to play co-op.

Well, it takes a lot of guts to say this but Crysis 2 is the best looking game on console. Maybe even the best looking console game of all time. It looks absolutely awesome and there are no two ways about it. And it plays pretty good too. Overall, between the awesome presentation and decent gameplay, Crysis 2 is definitely worth playing.

Crysis 2 has a great standard to live up to. The original Crysis packs loads of adrenaline pumping action into its expansive campaign. Its stunning rendering of the lush green jungle raised the bar for graphical details to such a level that all modern shooters are judged by it. This sequel does an admirable job of living up to the aura which the original created. The natural jungle gives way to the urban jungle in the sequel; New York City to be precise. You make your way through devastated office buildings, across crumbling bridges and around annihilated broad city squares which are infested by robotic aliens. A large environment gives you space to maneuver and grants you freedom to approach a battle in umpteen numbers of ways. Crysis 2 is a great alternative to the plethora of run off the mill first person shooters.

Just Cause 2 is very similar to an action movie. You get a large chain of islands to explore, tons of weapons and explosives to rig, and loads of vehicles to drive. You pretty much have the ability to do anything in the craziest of ways and go anywhere you want with the aid of grappling hooks and a range of parachutes. This is a dream come true for gamers who like to create their own fun instead of bowing down in submission to the restrictions and limitations imposed by the gameplay. Sandbox games just don’t get much better than Just Cause 2.

Just like Vito Scaletta, Mafia II's leading man, is lured into leading a life full of earthly pleasures, you too will be drawn to the game’s materialistic appeal. Alliances, war, murder, betrayal, booze, money, status and sex are everything your life comprises of in the Empire City. Mafia 2 will be revered by anyone who is fond of great storyline. The narrative which is full of unexpected twists and turns is almost certain to draw you in. Superb dialogue delivery by a very talented voice cast brings the characters out of your screen to life. It's very easy to get engrossed in the open world of Mafia II characterized by constantly changing allegiances and colorful personalities. The game is essentially set in two distinct time periods; in the winter of 1945 and the summer of 1951. It is exciting to witness the changes that the characters undergo during this time as well as the changes that take place in the city itself. Ability to play in two distinct periods is a highlight of the game.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is an intense and exciting first person shooter with no dearth of online destinations for those who enjoy modern military combat. The online multiplayer mode in this shooter is over the top featuring huge maps, awesome destruction, powerful vehicles and excellent sound dynamics. These elements combine to create an environment that truly resembles an actual battlefield rather than mere combat arenas like in many other shooters. The exhaustive campaign takes you to exotic locations around the world that compel you to take a break from shooting and enjoy the scenery. The members of your squad are great fun and the camaraderie is admirable which gives the campaign a lot of depth and a rich sense of character. All this culminate into an entertaining adventure that makes Battlefield: Bad Company 2 a rare gem in the world of shooters.

Arkham Asylum is based on the cartoon series of the 90’s, ‘Batman: The Animated Series’. The story begins with Batman already having the iconic villain Joker in custody and is escorting him to Gotham City’s dreaded prison, Arkham Asylum. From there the story and game really kicks off. And courtesy Eidos and Rocksteady, Arkham also becomes the setting for a riveting third person action game in which a bunch of lunatics take over the asylum and it’s up to you to stop them. As Batman, you not only get involved in close combats but also employ stealth tactics, use cutting edge gadgets, solve remarkable riddles and do a fair amount of detective work. Arkham Asylum really makes you feel like Batman and stands out as arguably the best superhero game ever. The game is well polished, offers thrilling gameplay and a perfect presentation made it GOTY by quite a margin.

Like all races, they have special traits that make them well suited to certain classes or professions. Whereas the worgen’s area is reminiscent of a dark Victorian England, goblins' seems futuristic by the game’s standards. As Geralt of Rivia, your actions not just bring you closer to the truth of your own murky history but they also shape the course of great wars. And just as you begin to exert your power on the game's events, they oblige you with the same. You are drawn deep into a gorgeous world populated by quarrelling trolls and dwarves with shady characters. Although the game has some deficiencies which irk you, they don't diminish the impact of exploring a dungeon whose walls symbolize the agony you've just witnessed. This awesome role playing sequel offers a bold world characterized by compromising alliances and closely guarded secrets.

Metro 2033 is the latest take on post apocalyptic horror that takes place in the underground Metro system of Moscow, Russia. Humankind clings to survival in the settlements they have built in the ruins of the underground stations. In the darkness that envelopes the city live mutants, monsters and other dreaded creatures. Metro 2033 is a class apart when it comes to delivering the horror punch. It’s a fascinating mix of a variety of horror elements. The first is darkness and the horrible creatures that lurk within it. The second is a sense of claustrophobia emanating from a very congested world, both in the tunnels as well as the stations where people are crammed together, where life seems very restricted. The third is the perpetual horror present in an atmosphere where shrieking, gruesome monsters are in abundance. Equally frightening and fascinating are the realities of survival in the stations as they are surprisingly realistic and replete with families and children ignorant of the dangers that await them at every nook and corner. The story and setting are really the stalwarts of Metro 2033.
