3-D glasses to complement your Samsung DLP TV
There are several people out there who'd like to watch a 3-D movie without having to sit in a highly priced theater wearing some weird glasses, which, by the way, are epitome of geekiness. Now you'll all be able to watch 3-D movies right in the cozy comfort of your home provided you own a new Samsung DLP-based rear-projection HDTV and one of these glasses.

Functioning of 3-D glasses
3-D glasses came up as alternate-frame/eye synchronization devices that used a spinning color wheel synched to the screen. As the blocked disk passed before each eye the corresponding frame was displayed. The same technique is still in use around half of the 3-D glasses available in the market are based on the same technique.

Samsung's innovation
These Samsung's glasses use LCDs to perform the rapid alternate-eye switching needed to give you a 3-D view of the screen. These glasses rely on the rapid switching capability of the DLP chip to create the rapid alternating images.
An infrared transmitter, which you keep on the top of the screen steer these images onto the glasses. These glasses work with every Samsung TV manufactured this year.
3-D glasses have a reputation of raising headache and pain in the eyeballs, do these glasses have similar flaws is yet to be seen. Stay tuned for more information.
